One morning we set sail with Giuseppe, a fisherman from the village of Tricaste.

We swim in the cool water of the caves. Giuseppe picks up sea urchins, that we eat on the boat with white wine. The meal is completed by «Frise» : crunchy crackers wet with sea water, covered with tomatoes, oregano, olive oil and fresh tuna.

 

We moor in a tiny harbor for an espresso. «Look at the rocky walls behind the boats,»  shows Giuseppe, «you see these little cavities ?»

«This is the sign of human work : people have dug this harbor by hand, directly into the rock.»
