The light goes out in the small theater. A few guitar notes goes with a plaintive song which rises under the vault. The click of the heels will soon shake the scene.

Many people do not understand how it is possible to represent a moving model. We imagine that the designer has such a precise visual memory that he can freeze an image in his mind and use it as a model. I am quite incapable of this feat.

We constantly reproduce the same gestures and the same expressions. They are inscribed in our bodies. So just watch and wait. If a person moves when I've started drawing, I lift the marker and wait. When she comes back to a similar posture, I continue. Sometimes I start several sketches in parallel on the same board and I go from one to another according to the range of recurring attitudes of the model.

A teacher told me :To draw well, you have to spend 70% of your time looking at your model, and 30% looking at your sheet. This is one of the best pieces of advice I have ever heard.
