Back to World

At the airport in Paris, I observe the passengers waiting the flight for Chile.
We are about to cross the planet all together during 14 hours.
My friend Maïa and her father Renato are already in Santiago, waiting for me.

Maïa is Franco-Chilean. She lives in Seine-saint-Denis, in France. She met her family in Santiago only once, when she was 4 years old. Her father had just obtained the permission to enter Chile, so he brought her for the trip. Thirty years later, she proposes him to travel together again.

Renato lives in France also, but he regularly comes to Santiago, to meet friends and family. He was part of the MIR (Movimiento de Izquierda Revolucionaria, Movement of the Revolutionary Left) during the 70s. After three years of sequestration and torture, he could exiled in France in 1976.
