I offer Shanta, Mamta's mother, to draw her. First she says yes, then no, then she clears off. I do not understand, but I stay there, chating with the other women. Twenty minutes later, Mamta comes and tell me : "my mother is waiting you in her home".

Hesitating, I come in Shanta's home. I find her there, on the sofa, in her noblest pause, dressed with her most beautiful finery. She explains me she wants a portrait full-lenght, and coloured.
