Rachid belongs to one of the three shepherd families living in Azrarag. He works at the Maison des Arganiers and lives just opposite, in a tiny home decorated with a jumble of stones and unusual objects. On her door, no bigger than a window, photos of cats and butterflies cut out from magazines have faded over time. Inside, the room is covered from floor to ceiling with twinkling fairy lights, stuffed animals and collages.
Rachid is pleased by this portrait of him and his dog, Pissa. He gives me a shell fossil on which he has drawn two eyes. I put this work in my pencil case. It will later find its place in my workshop, with my precious objects.
