I remember my arrival by the station, like in the Lumière brothers film. It has all the charm of the "Eiffel style" with its wrought iron stairs, its earthenware decorations. You have to go and watch them closely. I like to see the simple people who leave there to go to work. I lived near the conservatory. In the summer I would hear clarinet songs. There is also the war memorial that the kids come to skate against; they wear out by bumping into it. I like to bend down to read the names of children who died in war, especially 14-18.
I think of them from the station, which hasn't changed since they left for the East. I love the old places of Rosny. Their architecture “hangs” on things. Newer buildings are too smooth. I am a fan of the Drift. In my head I go up the rue du 4e Zouave… Or I follow a route that starts at the station, passes through the town hall park, the bookstore, the circus tent and goes down through the small streets. This is the route I thought of when we had to show a piece of paper to go outside.
