To be honest, I’m in Chicago a bit by chance. My friend Lucie married an American and she lives in the USA since three years. Last summer, she invited me to draw her adopted city and I jumped at the opportunity.

Before landing, I did not know what to expect. I was picturing my friend in a restless world, living in the top of a skyscraper with a commanding view over the crowd. I had in mind a caricature, a mix of images coming from TV series that I could transfer on any American metropolis.

I had no idea what was special about Chicago.
