The landscape is sprinkled with little white churches, erected on the top of the hills or hidden between
the folds of the mountain. Because of this particularity, Naxos is nicknamed "the Mistras of the islands",
in comparison of a city in the Peloponnese area, famous for the number of its religious buildings.
