Into his house, Omar put on his wall the colored copy of his portrait. On the wooden panel,
the four mens around him are religious masters, and the woman on the top is his grand-mother,
Dior Fall. Omar is a Baye Fall. Baye means "father" in wolof, and Fall means that he is following the way
of Ser Ibrahima Fall, a master coming from the Mourids. The Mourids are senegalese muslims inspired
from soufism. The Bayle Fall have a way of life based on work and sharing. Their traditional cloth
is patchwork, because Ibrahima Fall was regulary darning his boubou. The are some fake Baye Fall,
wearing this cloth only to bargain, but the real ones are good men and try to help everyone around.
When I say that Omar is building a hut in front of his home, it does not mean that he is opening a
guest house, it really means that he is planning a shelter to host travelers who want to share his knowledge
on wood, or a bit of his wisdom.
