The sky is more and more dark. Suddenly, a ray of sun, like a spotlight during a concert,
came throughout the clouds to highlight the Erechtheion and its Caryatids.
The six stone women, strong and graceful, carry the roof of the ancient temple.

During their long existence, they have protected the most precious relics of the city,
survived to a fire, witnessed byzantine masses, hosted the harem of a Turk commandant,
and the list goes on. Today they have a rest at the museum of Acropolis (just one went
to live in England), while these perfect replicas face every day the pollution and
the thousands of tourists.
