When I arrived in Viet Nam, I have been amazed by house's appearance. In Cambodia they were like cubes put up on piles, here they are very thin and all in depth. They look like sandwich loaf slices.

Why cut the light and live in corridors ? Because at the beginning the real-estate taxe was based on the width of the buidings. So the vietnamese start to build as more thin and depth houses they could do.
