We are going to visit the Timliline attic. Dug into the red rock, it is organized into corridors, divided into three floors. Flat stones flush with the walls provide access to the upper levels. Each wooden door is marked with a sign which designates the family to which the shelter belongs. Lockers are passed down from generation to generation.

Saïd shows me his bag and his dagger. He is the Amin, the keeper of the granary.

We chat while having tea, Aziz acts as interpreter. I ask Saïd how long he has worked here. Given his age, I expect a distant date, but Saïd has only been working here for two years, because his retirement is not enough for him, his two wives and their nine children.
