I visit Arts of Life, one of the many associations Nick has been involved with. Here, adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities can practice an artistic activity.
In a big open space, each members of the association work on his own tables. The animators announce sometimes a meeting, and everyone votes for an idea or a proposition. In this association, every decision is taken with the all group.
An exhibition is organized for the next day and it is the last minute rush. Catherine, the Community Resources Manager, seems in a hurry. Anyway, she gently finds a few minutes to talk with me. As we go to her office, she offers Dave, one of the oldest members of the association, to participate to the interview.
Catherine and Dave form a super duo. For sure, they are used to conduct interviews. I imagine they regularly have to present the association to the media, maybe to collect donations. I let them talk and joke without interutping, quite impressed by the fluidity of their communication.
