A little further, in the heart of White Town, I visit a convent housed in a large colonial building on Rue Rolland.

In the main room in front of the garden, women in sari embroider silently. Sister Augustina, whom everyone calls "Sister", is the person in charge of the place.

"Most of the women you can see here have experienced difficult situations. In this place, since forty years, we welcome them and we teach them the craft of embroidery. It is an activity that saves them from tougher tasks, and continues through the sale of their production. Thank God we have always kept up this activity."
